Way back when I got married, my husband and I were planning our reception. What it would look like, the music, seating charts, etc. A good friend of ours, who was already married, gave us some great advice – Be sure to let the caterers and wait-staff know “Don’t wait for the Bride and Groom’. So often at a wedding reception the dinner courses will wait for the bride and groom to finish their food before clearing the plates and serving the next course. Many times the bride and groom might be thanking their guests for coming to the wedding unaware that this is happening. This well known industry standard can delay the meal and stretch it out for hours but can also cause you to miss out on precious dance time! So for those brides and grooms who are planning their big day, be sure to tell your caterer and wait-staff to “Don’t wait for the Bride and Groom”.
